As I age...a prayer

As I age,
let me never forget my Saviour,
without him I wouldn't understand love and sacrifice,
without him I would still be lost and clinging to this world,
let me never forget to thank my parents,
without them I wouldn't know earthly matters,
I wouldn't even know the concept of God,
if they didn't seek to expose me to his word,
if they didn't kneel at night to teach me how to pray,
I'd still be partying like it was 1973,

As I age,
may I take each day with a smile,
not holding on to the sad moments,
not harboring any ill feeling for anyone,
let me be thankful first for each moment,
life could have been worse,
relationships could have left me depressed,

As I age,
let me always be grateful to God,

without his word,
I'd still be believing the words of men,
instead of studying for myself,
I'd still be believing that I could touch a radio and be saved,
or I could read a booklet and I would be added to the Lord's church,
thank God I went down into the watery grave,
a symbol of Christ burial for my sake,
and I rose a new creature,

As I age,
may my knowledge never go to waste,
may I never cease to help others,
may I never cease to show love for all,
may God grant me wisdom,
may he lead my life,
Amen.

Lessons from trust....

Trust in the LORD and do good; Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness. Psalm 37:3

Over the last couple of years I have come to recognize that there aren't many people out there that you can trust. Even at times your closest friends deceive you and hang you on a cross like Jesus. That is the sad reality of this world. Sadder still is when persons state their allegiance to God and walk with darkness each day. Such hypocrisy has existed since the beginning of time. Man has often used God to carry out the works of the devil, using fancy words crafted from scripture to deceive and use the innocent.

Those who seek to mislead are soon exposed by God, as they cannot hide their deception forever. God makes it clear that we have to trust in him. Even when all seems lost, God never leaves us. I am example of that. I have gone through many trials and tribulation, but God has always rescued me. Though at times I have wondered why I had to suffer so much in my trials, I have come to understand that everything happens for a reason. God is teaching me in each lesson of this life.

Psalm 56:11 teaches us this important lesson, "in God I have put my trust, I shall not be afraid. What can man do to me?" Who shall we be afraid of if God is with us? Its clear that we have no one to fear once God is with us. So why do we walk with fear everyday? Is it that we don't trust God? It seems clear that fear is from the enemy, and when we surrender to it, we have surrendered to the enemy. At times I have been guilty of that, allowing fear to capture me and trap me in its web. Its when I break free of this fear that God causes major changes in my life. Fear eats away at us daily in all the things that we do, even the simplest of things in this life. Matthew 10:28, tells us "Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."

You see man can destroy our earthly body, but not the spiritual body. Even when he has trampled us, our spiritual soul is intact. Our fear should be centered around the enemy, who is willing to deceive us and cast us into hell. If we trust in those who are of the enemy, then there is only one result. We cannot allow their false doctrines to devour us. They will come with beautiful words, but their actions tell the true story. If we are children of God, then he will protect us. However, many lose hope so quickly. When the smallest challenge appears they allow fear to take over, trust evaporates and soon stress appears. If only we could always see good in the bad that happens to us, and stop allowing the enemy to dictate what joy is. He cloaks our eyes so we cannot see true happiness. He deceives us with things which are not of God, convincing us that our actions are genuine and blessed. We have to start trusting God today, and each day we add to that trust until the enemy is swept away.

My lessons in this life have been harsh at times, but I am changing my outlook daily. I am trusting in God from whence cometh my strength. God is showing me through his words those who are not of him. My eyes have been opened and there is no looking back.

Moving on...

I’m moving on today,
I’ve buried the past,
The tears have dried,
The fear is gone,

I’m moving on,
Forgiveness I declare,
God has spoken to my heart,
I will not fail,

I’m moving on,
Though betrayal and hurt was my doormat,
I’ve wiped my feet,
My shoes are off,
The dust have been removed,

I’m moving on,
Pursuing God’s path,
Surrendering my sins to him,
I know I am not perfect,
But he expects me to be,

I’m moving on,
Praying for those who have wronged me,
Hoping that they will see the error of their ways,
Hoping that God will grant them mercy
While there is still life,

I’m moving on,
My eyes are forward,
My nose is open
Inhaling the beauty of God,
There is no time for sorrow,
The world is at my feet,

I’m moving on,
Thanking God that I still have life,
Thanking Him for every blessing,
Lifting His name high above the heavens,
Glory be to God….

Happy Mother's Day [A tribute to my Mom]

[To the most special Mom in the universe]

Mother,
You represent love and caring,
Your words have often comforted me in sorrow,
You have been there when I was sick,
You have lifted me up when I fell down,

Mother,
I love you more than treasures of mankind,
You taught me the virtues of life,
You always instilled honesty in my heart,
When my eyes fell to the ground
You taught me to hold them to the sky,

Mother,
Every day I sing your praises,
Your name always falls off my lip,
When I see the wrongs of this world,
Your values gave me strength,
When the coldness of strangers surrounded me,

Mother,
You are a beautiful gift of God,
He took time to mold you in the precious gem you are,
Your sacrifice for me I could never repay,
Like Jesus on the cross,
You carried my burdens daily,
Taking each step with courage,
Beating away the sad words of the world,

Mother,
I’m glad you chose to love me,
Even when I made your heart ache,
Even when we disagreed,
You would always end our days in joy,
You would always care,

Mother,
I pray that God will continue to bless you richly,
And that you will seek his path,
Because you are truly a blessing,
A breath of fresh air,
In these doldrum days,
I miss you so much Mommy,
I love you dearly,

Happy Mother’s Day……
