Jamaica College left it to the last race to secure the 2011 Boys Championship. JC won by 11 points over Kingston College. Going into the 4X400 relays, JC just needed to beat KC to win. In a nerve-racking race, JC and KC were head to head. On the second leg, the JC and KC athlete's collided bringing more drama to the race. However both athletes picked themselves up and continued in their earnest battle. On the final leg, JC held on against a strong surge by KC to win the Mortimer trophy.
JC was able to win the Boys Champs, without their influential 200 and 400 meters specialist, Rohan Walker, who was disqualified due to poor academics.
It has been a remarkable 2010 and 2011 for JC. In 2010 they captured the triple in schoolboy football. All credit must go to the entire school body and the old boys association for their hard work. Under the leadersip of Principal Reid, JC has been transformed and the best is still to come.
Congrats JC..Fervet Opis In Campis...work is burning in the fields...
