Though you've been battered and bruised,
be encouraged my friend,
you've lost your job,
and your mortgage payments are late,
be encouraged my friend,

Though you've cried your eyes out and all seems amiss,
be encouraged my friend,
you think that life is over,
and living is a chore,
be encouraged my friend,

Though your friends have deserted you,
and you talk to yourself,
be encouraged my friend,

Though hunger and poverty stare at you,
and your throat is dry with thirst,
don't give my friend,

Though you think you been through hell,
be encouraged my friend,
there is hope,

Though you've tried everything you know,
be encouraged my friend,
there's one important decision you didn't make,
you never took your burdens to the heavens,
you forgot where your strength lies,

It's not too late my friend,
your last breath has not expired,
there's still a chance to turn your life over to him,
though your tears be as crimson he'll wash away your sins,

But there are choices you must make,
forget about the things of this world,
you must hear his Word,
believe in it,
confess that he is the Son of man,
repent of all your sins,
be buried with him in baptism,
emerge a new creature,
follow his commands,

Though the troubles you face won't instantly disappear,
be encouraged my friend,
you can now fall on your knees in prayers,
he'll answer you,

Be encouraged,
knowing that you no longer have to talk to yourself,
he'll hear you always,
your tears will rest on his shoulder,
your fears will be carried away by his love,
and eternity will be at your doorstep.
