the tears that shine my cheeks would disappear,
there would be no need for sadness,
nor broken promises,
the truth would be a banner flown,
from every corner of my heart,
the sunshine would once again peer through the cracks of doubt,
life would be worth living once more,
time would slide through the hourglass without sorrow,

If only you could change,
the clouds filled with rain would hide behind the sun,
forgiveness would be your anthem,
betrayal would be drowned in hope,
the many sacrifices of the ages would be worthwhile,
one day love would walk back into the fold,
not holding on to the past,
but free to live again,
without grudge,
or blood filled rage,
