HE GAVE HER WATER
Words and music: Traditional
Arrangement: Keith Lancaster
© 1987 Anthony K. Music (ASCAP)
Lead: Jerome Williams
Chorus:
Oh Jesus, he gave her water
You know my Jesus gave her water
Oh Jesus gave her water
And it was not from the well
Well, there was a woman from Samaria
She came to the well to get some water
It was there she met a stranger
And he did her story tell
She left my savior singing
She came back to him bringing
The time she had water
And it was not from the well
Repeat Chorus
Well on that woman he had pity
She ran back to the city
Crying glory hallelujah
I'm gonna let his praises swell
Every time she'd doubt him
She's stop and think about him
The man that gave her that living water
And it was not from the well
Oh, gave her water
Jesus gave her water
Oh Jesus he gave her water
I'm gonna let his praises swell
Jesus gave that woman water
He gave her that living lasting water
Oh, and it was not from the well
(Repeat)

"Each day I am learning how much God truly loves me. I cannot truly express it in words, but his love for me fills my soul. Whenever I am down, I rest in his arms, comforted and free to be who I want to be. Never in my life have I been able to be this free, knowing that he is protecting me. I used to fear death, but when God came into my life I no longer worried about such things. And when I fall on my knees, he hears my cries and rescues me from this cruel world. He does not judge me based on human standards, but judges me based on his word. I often fall short of his will, but when I open his book of life, I am guided as to now I should live. Thank you God for standing beside a wretch like me."

Japan disaster: Is radiation a threat on this side of the world?
Author: Daynes Journey Posted under:
We saw the grave images on the television of the devastation in Japan, with many lives lost and towns destroyed. Now the concern is raised around the fact that nuclear reactors are in danger of imploding and exposing the world to high levels of radiation. The issue of radiation is now a major concern to Japan's authorities as they try to cool down reactors. So far there have been high levels of radiation near plants and now we are hearing that the sea water has some levels of radiation. Radiation levels have also been detected in close neighbors. However there is no cause for alarm as the levels are low.
Japan's authorities has issued bans on exports of seafood and vegetables. We need to keep an eye on this situation as we are in tremendous danger if the reactors are not contained. The Japanese are working hard to control the situation. My concern is the level of radiation already emitted into the atmosphere by these broken reactors.
Experts have said that the levels are low, but we all know that experts have been wrong before. Everyone needs to watch out for food originating from Japan. Yes bans have been issued, but you still have to be on the watch for black market items.
What is clear is that Japan was not fully prepared for such a disaster. It is also evident that country's like Jamaica are not prepared either. Jamaica has had major earthquakes before, yet we do not have a clear plan for a disaster of this magnitude. There are cities built below sea levels without a sea wall, for example Portmore. Imagine if an earthquake with the magnitude of the one which hit Japan were to take place. A tsunami would totally devastate those cities which are close to the sea . Jamaica does not even have a tsunami alert system.
We need to be prepared for these types of situation. Let us learn from what has happened in Japan. Our prayers continue to go out for them.
When will man learn?
when will he understand?
when will he surrender?
He lives in sorrow each day,
dragging pain with each step,
pretending that he is okay,
When will he accept God?
when will his life reflect righteousness?
Is their love within him?
Or does he think outward appearance pleases God?
Is there hope for this world?
Is peace a possibility?
Will this ever be a reality?
The good book tells us a tale,
a tale of hate,
a tale of envy,
a tale of lust,
a tale of love,
which one will man choose?
God's wisdom is imprinted on the godly,
but the devil respects the unholy,
Will man ever gain wisdom?
Will Job's example bear fruit?

With the several earthquakes and massive tidal waves, Japan seems devastated. Many people are missing and the death toll seems to be rising by the hour. Now there is fear that their nuclear plant may meltdown. At this time I encourage all Christians to pray for the people of Japan. Also if we can donate to the many agencies that are trying to help we should. It is our responsibility not just as Christians, but as human beings to show love to each other. The Japanese need our help at this time and we must be willing to lend a hand. Let's forget about our problems today and pray for the Japanese.
None of us know when something like this will happen to us. The Japanese need our love and support at this time. Its in our hands...
How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart all the day? How long will my enemy be exalted over me? Psalm 13:2
Everyday in my life I marvel at how many challenges I face. Over the years challenges seem to follow me like a shadow. At times I have become disappointed and sad, but each day I am learning to change my mindset.
Through my faith in God I have come to recognize that these challenges have made me stronger. When I think about my challenges they are nothing in comparison to what Jesus Christ went through for me. His sacrifice for me has taught me that my challenges are insignificant.
The bibles teaches us in James 1:12, "Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him." These trials that we go through in this life builds up our faith. God has promised a crown of life for those who endure to the end.
Oftentimes I thought that because I was a Christian that everyday would be great in my life. Well over the years I have gotten a wake up call. The devil is constantly seeking to destroy the children of God and he does not want us to be happy. Happiness in trials means the devil is sad and will mount even more warfare to get us to fail.
I have come up with a new approach to facing my challenges, here are my ten steps:
- Every morning, during and at the end of the day I pray to God for courage.
- I have stopped looking at what others do and started focusing on my life.
- I focus on loving myself first, and then showering love on others.
- I have blocked out negativity from my thoughts.
- I study my bible more and I also listen to recorded sermons at night.
- I have enrolled in an online bible study school.
- I thank God when I go through challenges as I become stronger.
- I spend my time trying to encourage others who are facing the same challenges. There is power in fellowship with others, the bible encourages this. The devil does not like unity of spirit.
- I have learnt to see the good and the bad in situations.
- I am trying to live a simple life.
God does not give us more than we can bear, and with each challenge he stands with us. We are truly blessed by God and we have to accept this if we are to overcome our challenges.
When the enemy comes,
I shall not be moved,
my feet shall rest on solid ground,
my heart shall beat with courage,
When the enemy comes,
dressed in precious jewels,
the sparkle shall not entice me,
mine hands shall be clasped in prayer,
When the enemy comes,
cloaked in darkness,
the light from above,
shall shatter his plot,
When the enemy comes,
fear shall be chased into the abyss,
hope shall peer through the eyes of righteousness,
When the enemy comes,
God shall shield my integrity,
my prayers shall rest in his lap,
he shall wipe my sorrows away,
When the enemy comes,
I shall be mounted on faith,
protected by his angels,
ready to fight another battle...

The crisis in Libya has sent oil prices over the $100 mark. It seems that oil prices had stabilized after the Egyptian crisis but the latest events in Libya has sent oil prices soaring again. What does this mean for the ordinary man? Well, gas prices should start rising again. Then food and other supplies which are impacted by this increase will also rise.
No one knows when this crisis will end, so try your best to conserve. The key word in the coming weeks is 'conservation'.

If the sands of time could tell a tale,
the body would tremble,
withered,
drained of all life,
rising from the creator's dust,
But when the sands of time speak,
the world ignores,
clinging to false dreams,
hoping that money will bring joy,
its the same story each day,
the coldness,
the sadness,
the blood thirsty buzzards,
dragging the carcass of the weak,
When the arid days end,
the waters will flow,
hope shall return,
the restless shall have sleep....
